Aggressive 1st Half +30 expert has Phil Desousa (#799), Darren Edsall (#348) and Carlo Coen (#1), "showing a front wheel only", battling for advantage on the first turn.     Darren still "hanging tight" as the 3rd turn approaches immediately after the holeshot.  And here is the 2nd half +30 expert  start.  And its outcome.tly

Note:   remember to scroll to the right if you don't see your racing class when the image first appears.  The camera captures 2 result pages at a time (when the pictures are taken).  So they appear "side by side" most of the time.

Also note:  If you are on Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher) you will find that your browser will automatically resize for you (and as a result print is too small to read). If this happens to you just place the arrow (with your mouse) over the picture and let it sit there.  In a moment or two a funny little box will appear in the picture on the lower right hand side of the screen.  Click on this little box and the picture will go back to full size so you can read the letters.   Sorry, but this is a new development from Microsoft.  (if the funny little box fails to appear then "right click" on the  image and click on "open using advanced jpeg compression".  Now just move the mouse over the image and  the funny little box you need should appear).  This is a nightmare. I hate it immensely.  But you might as well learn to deal with it as you will be needing it for many other things on the internet).)

Jill Abruzese enjoying the early morning sunshine wih her two "mini me's"

Jill, rider #707, is one of the core group of competitors that founded the Women's Class in our district just a few short years ago. Here she is being greeted by her two "mini me's" (Kate Behrens and Samantha Fritz) as she pushes her bike to the first practice session of the day.  Jill spends her summers deep sea fishing off Montauk (or just pleasure boating out of Newport) so its not often we get to see her this time of year. Jill rode a great second half moto "click" after shrugging off a tough spill in the 1st half.  And, yes, "mini me's" really is Jill's own term for her two special friends here !!

Weekly District 34 Report by ProRacePhotos   ===>   "Click"

Did you know?

  • That Ace put down several hundred cubic yards of sawdust on the track just 4 days prior to the 8/31 event?  Why it did not create the best track conditions all year is still a mystery but it sure was not for lack of trying to do the best for District 34 riders.

  • Did you notice that the entire starting gate was entirely REBUILT just prior to the 8/31 event?  Did you look inside the gatehouse to notice that the gate is now raised by a hydraulic pump?  Also installed just prior to 8/31.

  • Did you know that as ambulance #1 had to leave the track with a young rider, that ambulance #2 was dispatched to the track (as per standard procedure) but that while it was enroute to ACE that it had to be diverted to a severe accident on the Thruway?  And that the emergency reroute was the cause of the large delay in the morning and was a pretty much an unprecedented event for ACE.

  • Next race:  Best Ever.
